On Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 19:00, the 16th program of the seminar series “A Common Vision for Humanity and the Planet” will be broadcast live on Kapadokya University’s YouTube channel. The guest of the seminar will be Prof. Ebrahim Moosa, a faculty member at the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, USA). Specializing in Islamic law, history, ethics, and theology, and both classical and modern Islamic thought, Prof. Moosa is the author of What Is a Madrasa? (University of North Carolina Press, 2015) and Ghazali and the Poetics of Imagination (University of North Carolina Press, 2005), which was awarded the best book in the field of the History of Religion by the American Academy in 2006. He has also edited books such as The African Renaissance and the Afro-Arab Spring (Georgetown University Press, 2015), Islam in the Modern World (Routledge, 2014), and Muslim Family Law in Sub-Saharan Africa: Colonial Legacies and Post-Colonial Challenges (Amsterdam University Press, 2010). Prof. Moosa’s book Ghazali and the Poetics of Imagination has been translated into Turkish as Gazzali ve İmgelem Poetikası. The program, titled Gazzali ve İmgelem Poetikası, will be moderated by Prof. İskender Öksüz, a faculty member at Kapadokya University.
