On Monday, December 6th at 17:00, the third session of the seminar series “A Shared Vision for Humanity and the Planet” will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of Cappadocia University. The guest speaker will be Professor Joseph Massad, a faculty member at Columbia University and one of the leading theorists in modern Arab political and intellectual history. Professor Massad, who works on topics including nationalism, gender, race, and religion theories, is the author of the books “Desiring Arabs (2007),” “The Persistence of the Palestinian Question: Essays on Zionism and the Palestinian Question (2006),” “Colonial Effects: The Making of National Identity in Jordan (2001),” and “Islam in Liberalism (2015).”
The program, titled “Independence: A Deception of Colonialism in the Middle East,” will be moderated by Professor Cemil Aydın, a faculty member in the History Department at the University of North Carolina.
