On Wednesday, April 27th at 19:00, the 10th session of the seminar series “A Shared Vision for Humanity and the Planet” will be broadcast live on Kapadokya University’s YouTube channel. The guest of this session will be Professor Giorgos Kallis, ICREA Research Professor and faculty member at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, one of the leading theorists in ecological economics and political ecology. Professor Kallis, who conducts research on environmental justice, political ecology, and economic degrowth, is the author of several books, including Degrowth: A Vocabulary for a New Era (2014, Routledge), In Defense of Degrowth (2017), Degrowth (2018, Agenda Publishing), Limits: Why Malthus Was Wrong and Why Environmentalists Should Care (2019, Stanford University Press), and The Case for Degrowth (Wiley, 2020). His 2014 book Degrowth: A Vocabulary for a New Era has also been translated into Turkish (Metis, 2020).

Professor Kallis will deliver a talk titled Rethinking the Limits to Growth, and the moderator of the session will be Dr. Ethemcan Turhan, faculty member of the Spatial Planning and Environment Department at Groningen University.
