Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to Ankara

Ambassador M. Amanul Haq is a diplomat serving in the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) – Foreign Affairs cadre. Between 2020 and 2023, he served as Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999, he has held various domestic and overseas positions. He began his diplomatic career as Consul and Deputy Head of Mission at the Bangladesh Consulate General in New York.

Later, he was seconded to the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and after holding various roles, he was promoted to Director General of Cabinet and Advisor to the Secretary General. Upon returning to Bangladesh, he served as Director General for the West Asia Region at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He also served as Director General responsible for various nationwide events, including the Bangabandhu Birth Centenary and the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s Independence Celebration Cell and the Corona Cell, prior to becoming Chief of Protocol of Bangladesh.

He completed his master’s degree in International Relations at the University of Dhaka and L’École Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in France. Additionally, he completed various courses on International Law, Peace, Security, and Conflict Resolution in Norway and Switzerland.

He is married and a father of two daughters.
